Are you up for it?\nThe Ruapehu Grand Fondo is an epic 164km long ride with over 2800m of climbing! This ride is not for the faint hearted.\nThis is your chance to join the select few cyclists who have previously raced to the Top of the Bruce. \nThe start and finish will be the Whakapapa Ski field car park at the top of the “Bruce Road” Whakapapa Village is on the lower slopes of the western side of Mount Ruapehu. Whakapapa Village marks the base of the Bruce road and the gateway to the Whakapapa ski field. \nThe ascent is 13 km long. Over this distance\, the elevation gain is 959m with an average gradient of 7.37% but with some very steep section (17 & 21%) along the way\, at the finish you will reach 1\,619m (5311ft) above sea level. The Bruce Road is one of the highest roads in the country. \nWhy would you not want to take on this epic challenge![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row] \n
