Start Groups

Riders are separated into three groups to enable similar abilities to ride together and to spread participants out to improve safety along the route. All groups are eligible for prizes and event classifications.

Please feel free to contact us if you need help in selecting your start group.

Please use the following as a guideline for selecting your group

Group 1

If you have completed Round Taupo Cycle Challenge in less than 4hrs 45mins

Group 2

If you have completed Round Taupo Cycle Challenge in over 4hrs 45mins

Group 3

Group 3 Looking to complete tour at your own pace

Corporate Challenge

All teams entered in this will start in their own separate group to those riding in the individual section
